Responsibilities
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will:
- Provide professional pharmacy services and patient-centered care.
- Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescriptions in accordance with provincial regulations and standards of practice.
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, drug interactions, and disease management.
- Conduct medication reviews and medication reconciliation.
- Administer injections and vaccinations as authorized by provincial regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Monitor drug therapy and identify, resolve, and prevent drug-related problems.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, assistants, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, policies, and professional standards.
- Participate in inventory management, ordering, and quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to achieving pharmacy operational and clinical service goals.
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the applicable provincial College of Pharmacists.
- Authorization to administer injections and provide expanded scope services (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, clinical practice, and medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic health records is an asset.
