We are looking for casual staff, who are available for occasional sick call ins and other absence coverage, such as sick leave coverage for up to 3 months.
Internal staff also have first chance to apply for a schedule, when a steady schedule becomes available
Shifts are: 7:30AM-3:30PM, 7 days/week
Responsibilities
· Complete both light and heavy cleaning of resident apartments and common living areas (hallways and front lobby) based on established cleaning schedules
· Complete care and cleaning of all floors and rugs using institutional housekeeping equipment
· Complete seasonal cleaning tasks, as assigned
· Identify and address incidents of offensive behaviours
· Complete discharge cleaning
· Participate in housekeeping-specific infection control practices
· Participate in the development and maintenance of work routines
· Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including:
o Follow established safety procedures for storing, distribution and handling of housekeeping chemicals
o Clean machines used during shift and ensure continued safety of machines
o Ensure housekeeping cart maintains all hazardous substances within the locked compartment and remains locked at all times when unattended
o Use all equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
o Wear proper safety equipment and PPE when necessary
Qualifications Required:
· Completion of grade 10
· 6 months minimum experience of general cleaning, either institutional or public-based
· Demonstrated proficiency in operation and use of a computer, related technologies and software required for the role
· Previous experience working with the elderly preferred
