The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Certified Orthotist (0.6 FTE, part-time) to join our dynamic Prosthetics & Orthotics team. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice in a leading rehabilitation environment serving both inpatients and a diverse outpatient population across Central and Northern Alberta. You will assess, design, fit, and adjust custom orthotic devices in close collaboration with skilled technicians and an experienced multidisciplinary team. Our department of 20 clinicians, technicians, and support staff fosters a highly collaborative, supportive environment focused on clinical excellence and innovation. The Glenrose provides access to advanced technologies, including digital scanning, CAD/CAM systems, 3D printing, and a 7-axis carver, enabling you to deliver cutting-edge patient care. You will work alongside physicians and allied health professionals (OT, PT, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Recreation Therapy) within an interdisciplinary model central to rehabilitation care. Description:
As a Certified Orthotist, you will provide specialized care to patients with medical conditions of the neuromuscular-skeletal structure of the body by evaluating, measuring, designing, fabricating, fitting and aligning orthotic devices. You will instruct the client/patient on the proper use and manipulation of the orthoses in activities of daily living and refer clients/patients to private clinics when needed. You will provide training and educational programs to health care professionals, interns, students and external organizations.

Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Active Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC). Minimum 2 years of experience of practice. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to spend the majority of the day walking/standing with occasional kneeling, forward bending. Previous experience with Plagiocephaly helmets is required Previous Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies is required with preference for Canfit programs. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Connect Care is an asset. Experience using Microsoft Access, Outlook, and Excel. Experience using Vorum and Omega scanning software. Previous experience working in a public health context with an inpatient caseload is an asset.
