We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental hygiene, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. This role offers an opportunity to provide exceptional oral health services while fostering positive patient relationships in a welcoming environment. Experience with Dentrix, orthodontics, pediatrics, and bilingual communication are highly valued. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of dental procedures, medical terminology, and customer service principles to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Duties
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Assist in patient examinations by recording medical histories and vital signs
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure smooth workflow during procedures
- Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable environment tailored to their needs
- Stay current with industry best practices, including updates in orthodontics or other specialties as applicable
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice
- Proven experience working in a dental office setting; experience with Dentrix preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and customer service
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in dental assisting or related roles is advantageous but not required
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and safety protocols
