Role Summary
As a Commercial Insurance Service Representative you will manage an assigned portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met with expert advice and exceptional service.
You will be responsible for servicing accounts, handling renewals, responding to client inquiries, marketing risks to insurers, and supporting new business opportunities through referrals. This is a dynamic, client-facing role best suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Managing Partner to support client strategy, account servicing, and portfolio performance.
- Manage and service a portfolio of commercial accounts.
- Review renewals with clients and provide clear, informed coverage recommendations.
- Respond to day-to-day client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals.
- Market existing accounts to insurance companies and negotiate terms with underwriters.
- Develop strong working knowledge of insurance markets to determine appropriate placements.
- Interpret policy wordings and compare coverages and quotations effectively.
- Receive and process all incoming commercial documentation.
- Prepare applications, binders, certificates of insurance, and policy documentation.
- Process endorsements, invoicing, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Liaise with insurers and adjusters regarding claims status and file updates.
- Obtain additional underwriting information as required and complete submissions accurately
Education & Experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in commercial lines customer service. (preferred)
License/Certification

- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and binding authority.
- Experience using insurer portals and quoting systems.
- Valid G-class driver’s license.
Preferred / Assets
- Strong industry knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty, Commercial Auto, and Farm Insurance.
- Enrollment in, or completion of, CIP or CAIB designation.
- Experience with CRM platforms or client management systems.
- Previous customer service or sales experience.
- Comfort working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong keyboarding skills and general tech confidence.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally.
