Reporting to the Aquatic Centre Supervisor, the Aquatics Instructor 2 is an employee responsible for providing safe and fun advanced courses and swim abilities courses to all participants. They must do so in accordance with LSI and CAR standards.
These are flexible positions, and the work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. These positions will end April 23, 2027.
Plan, organize, and deliver programs in accordance with CAR and Lifesaving Society standards.
Demonstrate proper techniques effectively for participants of varying skill levels.
Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Evaluate participant performance and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing facility rules, modeling professionalism, and ensuring proper use of equipment.
Ensure the safety of all participants during instructional sessions through vigilant supervision, risk assessment, and proactive intervention.
Foster positive relationships with participants through clear communication and a professional demeanor.
Address participant questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
Consult Aquatic Student Program Lead, Aquatic Leadership Programmer and Lifesaving Society as needed.
Complete all administrative documentation accurately and on time, including attendance, evaluation forms, certification paperwork, and course records.
Maintain current certifications.
- Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification and a valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C/AED.
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Preference given to applicants who hold one or more of the following certifications: Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner/CPR-I, National Lifeguard Instructor, or who are current students.
Salary: $21.87 - $27.61 per hour
