Monk Office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Office Equipment Service Technician - Central - North Vancouver Island
You’re a self-starting, highly motivated individual who has excellent time management and organizational skills. Providing a safe, positive experience for customers is important to you, and you take pride in a job well done. You have strong problem-solving and communication abilities that allow you to tackle challenges with the confidence that your decisions or solutions will result in top quality work that will satisfy both Monk and the customer. In the face of changing plans or unexpected delays, you’re able to reassess and adapt your plans and responsibilities independently.
This is a full time, remote/on the road position covering territory from Nanaimo to Port Hardy. Availability is required between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend or evening availability. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle as travelling through the service territory is a requirement of the position.
What you will do:
- Provide an exceptional customer experience while repairing and maintaining office equipment, in a quick paced technical environment
- Perform installations, regular maintenance, and repairs for software, hardware, and business equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to: photocopiers, printers, shredders, plotters, and scanners.
- Analyze and diagnose hardware problems on a variety of business equipment
- Provide extraordinary and responsive service to customers
- Greet, service, and complete customer interactions with a smile
- Respond to service requests in a seamless and timely manner
- Keep up to date with current technical training (web training and computer skills)
- Provide leads for replacement equipment and office products
- Complete required documentation
- Complete all tasks with a sense of urgency
- Onsite business machine operation instruction
- Product knowledge of office technology supplies and office equipment, and familiarity with other products and services as available from Monk Office.
What you will bring:
- Certification from a recognized training program in the repair of electronic equipment, or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a technical service role
- Possession of a valid BC Driver’s License
- Demonstration of exceptional verbal communication skills
- Technical, onsite, and remote troubleshooting skills
- Enjoy working in client facing technical environment that is ever changing
- Experience with Konica Minolta equipment is an asset but not required
- Positive, helpful and outgoing work attitude
- Curious and inquisitive in nature – seek to find out more and best service customers
