Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled baker to join our growing team as we open our first location. The ideal candidate will have experience with high-quality laminated dough and sourdough, and will play a key role in ensuring that all items are baked to perfection and delivered on time to meet customer demands. Join us on this exciting journey as we build something special from the ground up.
Location: 45 Sheppard Avenue East (near Yonge and Sheppard Station)
Shift Details:
- part-time position
- 8 hour to 10 hrs shifts a day
- Start 6am or 5am
About Slow Bite
Slow Bite is a vibrant bakery café offering a wide range of freshly baked goods, from morning pastries and sourdough sandwich to celebratory treats and specialty coffee. Everything is rolled and baked fresh daily in-house, creating the perfect place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a sweet treat.
Responsibilities:
- Baking a variety of products,
- Scaling and following recipes accurately
- Laminating dough!!!!! and making croissant-based products
- Mixing and portioning batters, dough, and other baking ingredients
- Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time and meet quality standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area after each shift
- Working efficiently to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of direct baking experience
- Advanced knowledge of baking techniques (dough preparation, fermentation, baking processes)
- Experience with laminated dough
- Proficiency in using bakery equipment and tools
- Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices(Food Handling Certificate is an asset)
- Can lift up to 25kg
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Punctual, dependable, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong team player with good communication and customer service skills
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
