The Opportunity
Our client is a respected leader in the building materials industry and is seeking a
Business Development Manager to lead the growth of its Interior Finishing product categories throughout British Columbia.
This is a strategic, customer-facing role responsible for growing market share, developing relationships with builders, contractors, developers, architects, designers, and finishing professionals while supporting branch teams with product knowledge and sales development.
The successful candidate will be an industry expert with strong knowledge of interior finishing products and a proven ability to develop business, identify new opportunities, and build lasting customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow Interior Finishing product sales throughout British Columbia.
- Build and maintain relationships with builders, contractors, developers, architects, designers, installers, and key industry partners.
- Identify new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing customers.
- Become the technical expert for the Interior Finishing category and provide product recommendations and solutions.
- Partner with branch teams to support customer opportunities and drive sales growth.
- Deliver product presentations, Lunch & Learns, and educational training for customers and internal teams.
- Work closely with key supplier partners to identify opportunities and introduce new products.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging product categories.
- Assist with product launches, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Travel regularly throughout British Columbia to support customers and branch locations.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of sales or business development experience within the building materials industry.
- Strong knowledge of interior finishing products such as:
- Doors & Trim
- Mouldings
- Millwork
- Interior Doors
- Hardware
- Flooring
- Stair Parts
- Architectural Finishing Products
- Existing relationships with builders, contractors, developers, architects, designers, and finishing contractors.
- Demonstrated success growing sales and developing new business.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Comfortable delivering customer presentations and product training.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings is considered an asset.
- Highly organized with excellent planning and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple branch locations.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence.
