Digital Advertising Specialist

We're bringing our paid advertising in-house and looking for a Digital Advertising Specialist to take ownership of it. You'll take over the work currently handled by our external agency, planning, launching, and scaling paid social campaigns on Meta and TikTok, and help turn paid acquisition into a steady, reliable source of growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable in ad managers, pays close attention to metrics like CAC and ROAS, and enjoys creating ads that catch students' attention and convert.
Responsibilities
- Own our paid social campaigns end to end across Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok, including strategy, setup, targeting, budgeting, and day-to-day management.
- Manage ad spend against acquisition and revenue targets, working to steadily improve CAC, ROAS, and conversion rates.
- Plan and run tests (audiences, creative, offers, landing pages) and use the results to guide what comes next.
- Direct and brief creative production, including static ads, UGC, and short-form video, making sure the messaging feels natural to students rather than overly corporate.
- Write and refine ad copy and hooks tailored to each platform.
- Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, turning the data into clear recommendations.
- Manage conversion tracking, pixels, and audiences (including retargeting) alongside our engineering team.
- Help coordinate a smooth handover of accounts, assets, and learnings from our current agency.
- Contribute to broader growth efforts as needed, including email campaigns, influencer collaborations, and university student-club partnerships.
Qualifications
- 3+ years managing paid social campaigns (Meta and/or TikTok) with direct budget responsibility, either in-house or at an agency.
- A track record of scaling paid acquisition. We'd love to hear about specific campaigns, budgets, and outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Hands-on proficiency with Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with metrics, spreadsheets, and reporting to guide decisions.
- A good understanding of the full funnel: creative, targeting, landing pages, and conversion tracking (pixels, events, attribution).
- A creative eye and the ability to brief or produce ad content; familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong written communication, especially short-form ad copy.
- Organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines with minimal oversight.
Bonus Points
- Experience marketing to students, or in the education, test prep, or edtech space.
- Experience producing or directing UGC and short-form video.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms and influencer marketing.
