Overview
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience with various tools, and a solid understanding of engine systems. Duties
- Diagnose issues with small engines, including side by sides, quads, dirt bikes, boats, and other power equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Conduct welding and electrical repairs as needed to restore equipment functionality
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate troubleshooting
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to replace parts, perform tune-ups, and optimize engine performance
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing equipment, up to 60lbs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used, and ordered.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with small engines or automotive repair is highly desirable
- Knowledge of welding, electrical systems, and schematics is preferred
- Familiarity with Caterpillar, John Deere, case or similar heavy machinery is a plus
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting tasks required
- Prior customer service experience is advantageous for effective communication with clients
- Automotive repair background can be beneficial for troubleshooting complex engine issues
This position requires a motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards. This is not an entry level position.
Starting wage: $27.00/h with performance review at 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. Room to grow up to $35/h plus production bonuses for the most qualified individuals.
Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
