About the Opportunity
An established and growing business in Cochrane is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its administrative team. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately, records are maintained, and deadlines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Process customer payments, deposits, and electronic funds transfers
- Prepare customer and internal invoices
- Complete bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll record administration
- Support GST remittances and month-end accounting activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with financial reporting and year-end preparation
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial information
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external accounting professionals
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, GST remittances, and month-end support
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to manage confidential financial information
- The ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while working independently
Experience in a distribution, retail, service, equipment, or dealership environment would be considered an asset but is not required.
