We are looking for a Full-Time Plant Operations Supervisor to join our Grande Prairie Plant. This role will involve working with our Operations and Administrative Sales team to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent production times, quality, and safety.

Duties include:
· Coordinate daily operations of the plant
· Implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labour utilization throughout the plant
· Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment
· Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements
· Basic understanding of construction quotes for metal roofing & siding
· Provide quotes for retail customers
· Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
· Screen, interview and manage the onboarding process of new hires in coordination with Human Resources
· Operate equipment to assist in production process when necessary
· Inspect finish products for defects to ensure quality standards are met
· Check stock levels and report deficiencies in products
· Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary
· Monitor equipment and ensure they are in good working order
· Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe working environment
· Enforce health and safety protocols during all stages of production
· Create and maintain a production schedule
· Must be a steward of Lean Manufacturing principles
· Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations
· Practice conflict resolution among employees
Responsibilities:
· Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing and packaging departments
· Manage front (sales/admin) and back (production/logistics) of house teams effectively
· Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements and financial planning
· Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives
· Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operations expenses within budget allowance, and investigate cost-reductions measures
· Ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed
Required skills and qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in plant operations
· Proven skills in leadership and supervision
· Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
· Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
· Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
· Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
· Attention to detail
· Prior experience in a production setting preferred
· Understand basic fraction calculations and read a tape measure
· Experience with general power tools, skill saw, circular saw
· Ability to lift heavy loads up to and including 50 lbs
· Clean driver’s abstract, Class 5 license, forklift ticket
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
· Sales experience is an asset
