Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Furniture Mover/Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting furniture safely and efficiently to customers’ locations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the integrity of all deliveries. Additional tasks can include general labor such as offloading trucks. The ideal candidate will have experience in moving furniture, possess strong communication skills, and be comfortable driving cargo vans and box trucks, (class unrestricted 5 license) excellent customer service. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. You will be an independent contractor, ideal side gig job for someone who wants to make additional money while having other full time responsibilities, ability to set your hours, preferably evenings and weekends. A clean drivers abstract, reference check and criminal record check is required.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and deliver furniture to residential or commercial clients according to schedule.
- Operate box trucks and cargo vans as needed to facilitate efficient movement of goods.
- Assist with the packing and securing of furniture for transport to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details, address concerns, and ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse and on the delivery vehicle.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate routes and ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of furniture items, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Skills
- Proven experience in moving or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate driving credentials are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to moving, driving, and warehouse environments.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
