Job Responsibilities:
As an Apprentice Heavy-Duty Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, overhauling, and repairing various components of heavy-duty trucks equipped with diesel engines and both manual and automatic transmissions
- Using repair manuals, diagnostic equipment, and online resources to guide repairs
- Completing detailed, clear, and concise work orders
- Ensuring all work is performed in line with dealership and factory standards
Expectations:
We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and have a "Fix It Right First Time" mentality. Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing repairs efficiently and accurately according to repair orders
- Communicating with service advisors if additional work is required, if any work is unnecessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the expected timeframe
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Reporting any machinery defects or malfunctions
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with:
- Previous experience with Daimler (preferred)
- Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines (an asset)
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) license (preferred)
- Class 3 Licence (preferred)
- 1-2 years of mechanical experience (preferred)
