Job Title: Senior FinOps Engineer
Location: Vancouver, BC
Note: Prior experience in BFSI, Public Sector, or Telecom is non-negotiable.
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Senior FinOps Engineer with a strong background in BFSI, Public Sector, or Telecom environments. The ideal candidate will lead cloud financial management initiatives and support enterprise cloud optimization programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead FinOps initiatives across BFSI, Public Sector, and Telecom environments.
- Support cloud modernization programs involving core banking systems, citizen services platforms, OSS/BSS systems, billing platforms, and telecom infrastructure.
- Develop enterprise cloud cost governance frameworks and optimization strategies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cloud financial planning activities.
- Collaborate with finance, engineering, architecture, and executive stakeholders.
- Support telecom network operations, 5G services, and enterprise digital platforms.
- Establish cloud cost accountability and reporting practices.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with governance, security, and financial controls.
- Promote FinOps best practices and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Senior FinOps Engineer within BFSI, Public Sector, or Telecom environments.
- Experience supporting banking systems, government applications, OSS/BSS platforms, billing systems, charging platforms, or telecom environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud financial management and optimization.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and financial controls.
- Experience supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting capabilities.
- FinOps certifications preferred.
