Position Summary
We are a manufacturer and distributor of spray polyurethane foam (SPF), polyurea, and related insulation products serving the Canadian construction and contracting market. We are seeking an experienced Warehouse / Facility Manager to lead day-to-day operations across our warehouse network and to take full ownership of inventory, shipping and receiving, fleet and delivery scheduling, facility upkeep, and the safety of our people and product.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is accountable for both the warehouse team and the delivery team. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, disciplined process management, and a hands-on approach to running a busy industrial warehouse that handles chemical raw materials and finished goods, including drummed product and A/B component sets.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Manage all receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, and shipping activities to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized, clean, and efficient warehouse layouts that optimize space, product flow, and safe handling of chemical and bulk materials.
- Establish, document, and enforce standard operating procedures, including beginning-of-day (BOD) and end-of-day (EOD) routines, across all sites.
- Coordinate operations and consistent standards across multiple warehouse locations in Canada.
Inventory Control
- Own inventory accuracy for raw materials, drummed product, A/B component sets, and finished goods through cycle counts and periodic physical inventories.
- Track stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, manage lot/batch traceability, and support reorder and replenishment planning.
- Maintain and improve inventory and warehouse-management systems and reporting.
Delivery & Logistics
- Lead the delivery team; plan and dispatch routes and schedules to meet customer delivery commitments cost-effectively.
- Oversee the delivery fleet (including box trucks) – scheduling, condition, maintenance, licensing, and safe operation.
- Ensure all transportation of goods, including dangerous goods, complies with applicable Canadian and provincial regulations.
- Coordinate inbound freight, carrier relationships, and inter-warehouse transfers.
Facility Management
- Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment, and grounds in safe, functional, and presentable condition.
- Manage forklifts and material-handling equipment, including inspections, servicing, and certification records.
- Schedule and supervise repairs, preventive maintenance, and contractor/vendor work; manage building systems and security.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, schedule, and develop warehouse and delivery staff; set clear expectations and hold the team accountable.
- Onboard and train new staff; conduct performance reviews and coach for improvement.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and collaborative team culture, resolving issues fairly and promptly.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and workplace safety requirements.
- Ensure proper WHMIS handling, labeling, storage, and Safety Data Sheet management for chemical products.
- Ensure Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements are met for shipping and receiving.
- Conduct safety training, inspections, incident reporting, and corrective action; maintain accurate compliance documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or logistics management experience, including direct supervision of staff.
- Demonstrated leadership of both warehouse and delivery/fleet operations.
- Strong working knowledge of inventory control and warehouse-management systems, with solid computer skills (e.g., Excel, ERP/WMS).
- Knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS, and TDG requirements and a proven commitment to workplace safety.
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) and the ability to operate material-handling equipment.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred / Asset
- Experience in chemical, industrial, construction-products, or building-materials distribution.
- Familiarity with handling drummed product and two-component (A/B) chemical sets.
- Experience managing operations across multiple warehouse sites.
- DZ/AZ commercial driver’s license and/or fleet-management experience.
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field.
Working Conditions
- Warehouse and industrial environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and chemical products handled under proper safety controls.
- Physically active role that may require lifting, standing, and equipment operation; appropriate personal protective equipment is required.
- Travel between Canadian warehouse locations as needed.
