Northland Logistics Corp. is seeking to fill a position for a company heavy haul/winch truck driver who has a minimum of 5 years experience with multi-wheel trailer configurations that is skilled and knowledgeable about the heavy haul trucking discipline and winch truck operations. The successful candidate would be working out of our Airdrie, Ab facility. The driver will carry a variety of loads for oil & gas, mining, construction, forestry and manufacturing industries throughout the USA, AB, BC, and SK. We provide our drivers with a modern truck fleet and specialized modular trailers. We value our driver’s safety and well being and provide extensive training and compliance practices.
The successful candidate must meet the following essential qualifications and requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Transporting heavy equipment, and over-dimensional loads throughout Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, and the US.
· Loading equipment on and off, the low bed truck and following site safety rules and regulations
· Ensuring loads are secure by utilizing boomers, chains, tarps, for optimal load securement practices.
· General maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle as required
· Maintaining electronic logbooks and time sheets in an accurate and timely manner
· Working with other members of the team in a professional manner to ensure we provide the best service possible to internal and external clients
REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· A Class 1 Driver’s License plus with Air brake endorsement and a clean drivers abstract is required in the Heavy Haul Industry
· Minimum of five years transporting heavy equipment, over-weight and over-dimensional loads using multi-axle combinations (jeeps/boosters/trailers/Hammocks)
· Demonstrated ability, with extensive experience operating winch tractor, wheeler trailer and scissor neck trailers
· Knowledge and experience within the oil and gas industry
· Willingness to work up to 14 hours per day including weekends
· Valid CSTS, Standard First Aid, H2S Alive
· OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO or CSO
- Winching experience is an asset, for loading
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Safety Code and HOS regulations
· Knowledge of the types of trucks & trailers that are operated in a heavy haul environment
· A mechanical aptitude and knowledge of truck & trailer components
· Knowledge of NSC and FMCSA regulations and WorkSafe compliance
· Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
· Ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions
· Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with organized document control
· Ability to cross the border on a regular basis. Possess a valid passport.

Pay: $32.00-$45.00 per hour
