Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring, including tile, hardwood, and laminate, ensuring precise and high-quality results. This role requires a strong attention to detail, proficiency with hand tools, and experience in construction and carpentry. The Flooring Installer will collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver durable and aesthetically pleasing flooring solutions that meet project specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare surfaces for flooring installation according to project plans and blueprints
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install flooring materials such as tile, hardwood, laminate, or vinyl
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation instructions to ensure accurate placement
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing as needed
- Apply adhesives, caulking, or other bonding agents to secure flooring materials in place
- Perform precise tile laying and carpentry work to ensure seamless installation
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications
- Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure durability and finish standards are met
Requirements
- Proven experience with flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction work
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, drills, trowels, and levels
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and ability to interpret technical drawings accurately
- Strong carpentry skills and handyman experience preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with a focus on precision and craftsmanship
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely
- Prior experience with caulking or sealing is a plus
- Construction experience is highly desirable; certification or training in flooring installation is an advantage
