CGR is excited to offer this opportunity for a Junior Project Coordinator for our Site office located in Nanaimo, BC. This role will focus on the overseeing of contractor's activities and reporting to CGR senior manager. We are seeking a positive, experienced and energetic person that can display strong work ethic, a positive attitude, good problem solving skills and be able to work cohesively and selflessly within in a team environment to join our global team.
Job Purpose
To oversee contractor's activities at Duke Point Port, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery in line with CGR’s standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and inspecting pile driving and pile installation activities carried out by the contractor on site.
- Conducting site inspection on a regular basis to monitor ongoing activities and provide feedback to CGR senior manager.
- Reviewing the progress and reporting to CGR senior manager on a regular basis.
- Reviewing the activities for compliance with HS system and procedures and reporting the status to CGR senior manager on a regular basis.
- Keeping site diary, photos and other site records as required.
- Reporting to CGR senior manager on all site-related observations.
Qualifications & Experience
· Post-secondary education in a related field.
· Site experience in civil, marine, or heavy infrastructure projects.
· Understanding of building codes, safety guidelines and regulations for construction projects.
· Skilled in reading, understanding and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scope and method of work and schedule.
· Knowledge in Canada construction standards and regulations.
· Ability to work on construction site under various weather conditions and inspect works.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
· Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Technical Skills & Competencies
· Strong grasp of health & safety.
· Strong grasp of QA practices.
· Skilled in interpreting drawings/specs and using AutoCAD, MS Office, and surveying tools.
· Experience with earthworks, piling, RC, steel structures, utilities and marine construction.
· Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable
Physical Requirements
Ability to move across active construction sites, access scaffolds/boats and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Willingness to adapt to project needs and extended hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
