As part of our ongoing dedication to excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled full-time Security Training and Compliance Manager to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for healthcare security personnel supporting the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) portfolio across diverse healthcare environments. You will play a key role in supporting a relational security approach focused on proactive engagement, professionalism, communication, de-escalation, violence prevention, and patient-centred interactions. This role will help equip frontline healthcare security teams with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to respond effectively to behavioural, safety, and emergency-related situations while working collaboratively with healthcare staff, patients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement engaging, comprehensive training for both new recruits and experienced security personnel.

Support the delivery of training programs, including classroom and site-based (on-the-job) instruction:

Security proceduresemergency protocols

Emergency response and crisis management

Conflict de-escalationverbal intervention

PVPCATR use-of-force training
-
Healthcare privacy, confidentiality standards, and professional communication practices
-
Relational security and trauma-informed approaches within healthcare environments

Report writing and incident documentation.

Customer service in security roles

Workplace violence prevention, Healthcare privacy and confidentiality standards, and more

Promote relational security practices focused on proactive engagement, communication, professionalism, and conflict prevention.

Conduct quality assurance audits across healthcare sites to ensure compliance with site policies, post orders, and VCH standards

Review incident reports and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission

Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing weekly and monthly reports for operations and leadership teams

Use evaluations to fine-tune and optimize training programs.

Work closely with management, site leadership, and healthcare staff to customize training based on unique site needs.

Represent Securiguard at training seminars, conferences, and professional events.
QualificationsSkills:
-
Minimum 2 years of experience as a security trainer/instructor.
-
Preferred experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
-
Experience as a trainer in retail and healthcare environments would be considered an asset.

In-depth knowledge of Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC), security protocols, risk management, and emergency response within retail and healthcare environments.

Strong communication, public speaking, and instructional skills.

Proven leadership and mentoring abilities to train security personnel effectively.

Ability to assess threats, make quick decisions, and manage high-pressure situations.

Proficiency in incident documentation, report writing, and compliance with industry regulations.

Flexible availability, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call training.

Valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation.

Must be able to pass a criminal record check and meet BC Security Worker Licensing requirements.
