Are you looking for an opportunity to start a career in the safety industry? The Safety Watch position is ideal for individuals new to the field who are seeking casual, project-based work throughout the year.
At DXP/HSE Integrated, we provide comprehensive training to prepare you for the core responsibilities of a Safety Watch, as well as the opportunity to earn valuable industrial certifications.
We will be holding an in-class training 40 hours), that ensures that you meet all necessary certification requirements to work on an industrial site.

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Safety Watch is to oversee and ensure the personal safety of workers and visitors at the worksite.
Key Safety Duties

Bottle Watch– Monitoring and ensuring the availability of breathing air equipment.

Spark Watch– Observing and controlling fire hazards in high-risk areas.
-
Safety Watch– Overseeing workers in confined spaces or hazardous environments.
-
Rescue Watch– Being prepared to assist in emergency situations.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Safety Watch position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Strong English communication skills are essential in this role (both verbal and written).
-
Good vision and hearing to effectively monitor worksite conditions.
-
Must be clean-shaven each shift to ensure proper fit of breathing apparatus.

Physically capable of performing tasks including:
-
Working at heights and/or climbing ladders.
-
Entering and working in confined spaces.
-
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
-
Pushing/pulling tools and objects.
-
Sitting and driving.
-
Bending, kneeling, and crouching.
-
Standing and walking for long periods.
-
Working in adverse weather conditions(heat, cold, rain, wind).
-
Working 10–12 hour shifts(flexibility for extended shifts based on client requirements).
Required Certifications & Training
All candidates must successfully complete the following:
Mandatory Training
-
Safety Watch Training Program (to be scheduled) Classroom training provided by HSE Integrated in Edmonton, AB

Prior to training you will be invited to pre-access testing/orientation: D&A, Fit Testing, onboarding. (to be scheduled)
Mandatory Certifications(must be valid and up to date) NO exceptions.
Candidates must already possess valid certified training:

Fall Protection
-
H2S Alive (ESC)
-
Common Safety Orientation (CSO – ESC)

Standard First Aid
-
Confined Space Entry (HSE will train and provided during the Safety Watch training if required)
Additional certificates that will be required from Energy Safety Canada are: (can be obtained after training, but prior to deployment).

Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness

NORMS Awareness
Candidate Qualifications, you must pass:

Drug & Alcohol Testing (Provided by HSE)

Fit Testing (Provided by HSE)

Pre Access Orientation (Provided by HSE)
