Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is vital in creating a positive dining experience and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. Previous hospitality or food service experience is a plus, but we value excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude above all. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, providing accurate information and assistance
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members to ensure smooth service flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating times and table availability
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns courteously, escalating issues when necessary
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to hospitality excellence
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse guests
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
