Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance expertise to ensure the optimal performance and safety of heavy equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining log trucks and heavy equipment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations through technical proficiency and proactive maintenance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using schematics and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, pumps, motors, and control systems.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to diagnose operational problems.
- Conduct welding, boiler repairs, HVAC servicing, and other specialized tasks as needed.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, manuals, and electrical diagrams to facilitate repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices when required.
