Dirt Works Labourer

ABS Excavating Ltd. is looking to hire a skilled labourer to assist on a dirt moving project

Responsibilities:

· Physical tasks, including digging, sweeping, lifting, shoveling, installing pipe and other heavy materials

· Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed

· Actively participate in all safety meetings

· General site housekeeping

Qualifications:

· Previous construction experience is required

· Prior water and sewer / underground utility experience is an asset

· Understand how to use power/small tools such as plate tampers, etc.

· Rock Truck operating experience is an asset, but not a requirement

· Ability to work long hours (11+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions

· Physically able to perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs

· Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner

· Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day

· Positive attitude / team player

· Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
