Reporting to the Director, Finance and Operations through the House and Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Weekend staff is responsible for providing support to guests of Sorrentino’s Compassion House, light housekeeping and yard maintenance for Sorrentino’s Compassion House.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
· Guest Services staff is responsible for the operation of Sorrentino’s Compassion House and the well-being of its guests during the evening on weekends.
· Interact with guests and respond to any queries. Ensure the guest stay is comfortable and positive.
· Complete guest check ins, orientation, house tour and paperwork as necessary.
· Complete guest check outs, accept payment, process payment receipt and update information in Housemate.
· Answer phones, complete guest Intake Forms and schedule guest stays.
· Send out guest confirmation package by email or mail.
· Maintain house security – securing the house, monitoring the house and yard.
· Investigate and respond to complaints of noise, disturbances by house guests.
· Ensure the house rules are adhered to in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
· Open communication with Sorrentino’s Compassion House staff related to any house or guest issues.
· Provide a response to emergency situations and create incident reports when necessary.
· Complete shift report, daily logs and other reports as required.
· Helps with volunteers and volunteer activities.
· Driving guests to appointments or scheduled outings.
· Other duties as required.
Cleaning and Yard Maintenance
· Light housekeeping duties including sweeping, dusting, laundry, vacuuming, loading/unloading dishwashers, wiping down countertops, garbage removal, and other cleaning as required.
· Cleaning guest suites at guest check out as required.
· Yard maintenance including watering plants.

· Comfortable with computers and using Microsoft Office.
· Detail orientated, have excellent observation skills and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
· Able to work independently.
· Training in Basic First Aid.
· Driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Working Conditions
· Sorrentino’s Compassion House provides accommodation for women undergoing cancer treatment. All staff must display caring and compassion and possess emotional maturity, discretion and can respect the dignity and rights of guests, volunteers, and other staff members.
· Keeping confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
Physical Demands
· Staff must be able to complete light housekeeping physical requirements.
· Staff must be able to drive a minivan.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Environmental Conditions
· Sorrentino’s Compassion House is a climate-controlled environment.
Security Clearance
· All staff who work within Sorrentino’s Compassion House must complete a Police Information Check for Employment. The check must be done prior to being employed.
Hours of Work
· The eight-hour shift is 4:00 pm – midnight, every second Saturday and Sunday (16 hours every two weeks).
· There may be the opportunity to pick up additional guest services shifts.
