Summary
We're hiring a Hydrovac Driver / Operator to join our Orangeville-based operations team. You'll be responsible for safely operating a hydrovac/vac truck across a range of service work, including septic tank pumping, car wash pit cleaning, and porta-potty servicing. Some days you'll work solo, others with a helper.
This is a hands-on role for someone who's confident around a hydrovac, takes pride in their truck, and works safely and efficiently every shift.
What You'll Do
- Operate a hydrovac/vac truck to perform septic tank pumping, car wash pit cleaning, and porta-potty servicing across residential and commercial sites
- Safely transport and dispose of septage and wastewater in accordance with provincial regulations
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any defects or maintenance needs promptly
- Perform basic truck and equipment maintenance to keep your unit in top operating condition
- Maintain accurate trip logs, service records, and disposal documentation
- Follow all safety protocols, traffic regulations, and company procedures
- Work independently or alongside a helper depending on the job
- Support the Operations Manager and broader team in delivering high-quality service to ESSE customers
What You Bring
Required:
- Valid Ontario DZ license in good standing
- Clean driver's abstract and CVOR (or willingness to provide both)
- Demonstrated experience operating a hydrovac and/or vac truck
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification, or willingness to obtain
- WHMIS certification, or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and extended periods on your feet
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform basic truck and equipment maintenance
Nice to Have:
- Septic industry experience (we will train the right candidate)
- First Aid / CPR certification
- Confined Space Entry training
- Traffic Control / Book 7 certification
- Experience with disposal site protocols and septage hauling regulations

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
