Job Overview
Members of the beach crew are responsible for getting our guests familiar with their rented equipment and our safety protocols. The beach crew will be helping customers into and out of their equipment, as well as providing relevant information to each group. The beach crew will also be moving and preparing equipment between rentals to ensure operations remain consistent. Successful members of the beach crew at Pedals & Paddles are outgoing, energetic, and active individuals who enjoy working in a beautiful setting with a fun and social work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist office manager with opening/closing duties
- Move equipment between beach and storage as needed
- Prepare equipment for guests
- Check equipment for damage before and after use
- Report safety concerns and equipment breakage
- Wash equipment and clean kayaks during down time
- Identify and assist guests who may be unfamiliar with equipment
- Assist with other duties as requested
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Previous customer service experience
- Able to work as part of a team
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects multiple times throughout each day
- Amounts and frequency are hard to estimate, safety always comes first and we are always able to work without everyone’s comfort zones
- Comfortable being on your feet for long periods and climbing up and down stairs (To our beach)
- Comfortable with working outside during the Summer
- Knowledge of Sea Kayaking, Paddleboarding, etc. is an asset
- Availability during long weekends throughout peak season is valued
Pay: $20.00 per hour
