Samfiru Tumarkin LLP is a busy national litigation firm with offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver. Our lawyers specialize in employment law, as well as personal injury and insurance litigation.
The firm’s Toronto office is currently accepting articling student applications for the 2027-2028 term. Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Legal document production (i.e. demand letters, claims, etc.)
- Thorough and comprehensive research
- Handling the day-to-day carriage of Small Claims Court files under the supervision of a lawyer or paralegal
- Shadowing legal representatives at various appearances including mediations, motions, and trials
- Completing various administrative duties as needed

This position is hybrid, with the option to work remotely or from our office. For remote working, a reliable home internet connection is required.
When it comes to salary for this position, it’s in the range of $6,500 to $7,000 per month.
We’re looking for someone responsive, eager to learn, adaptable, and who enjoys a fast-paced, as well as fun, environment. The individual can see themselves practicing employment law, and has the right personality for a demanding litigation practice.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A demonstrated interest in litigation — specifically employment law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A customer service mentality and high level of professionalism
- Excellent attention to detail and keen organizational ability
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team
- The ability to prioritize and meet urgent deadlines
