The Pearle Hotel & Spa is currently seeking full time Laundry Attendants. The Laundry Attendant ensures the efficient and timely cleaning, drying, and folding of linens, towels, and other laundry items, maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. They are responsible for operating laundry equipment, organizing laundry areas, and ensuring that laundry supplies are stocked and readily available. The Laundry Attendant works closely with the housekeeping team to support overall guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:
- Sort and classify laundry into specific categories for washing according to established standards, ensuring efficient processing and high-quality results.
- Pre-treat stains on linens, towels, robes, and other items to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and appearance.
- Safely operate laundry machinery, including washing machines, dryers, irons, and steamers, ensuring optimal performance and quality.
- Press, fold, and store linens according to company standards, ensuring consistency in presentation and readiness for use.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area, ensuring equipment is cleaned after use, and report any damage or malfunctions to management.
- Monitor and maintain the chemical injection system, ensuring safe handling and storage of chemicals in line with hotel regulations and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring adequate linen stock levels for guest rooms, pool, fitness room, and spa.
- Handle lost guest property following established procedures, ensuring timely return and proper documentation.
What we would like you to bring to the position:
- 1+ years of professional housekeeping or laundry experience is an asset
- Hotel pre-opening experience is an asset
- Experience with luxury or Forbes recognised hotel systems is an asset
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring that laundry items are cleaned, sorted, and returned to guests in perfect condition. This includes checking for stains, proper folding, and ensuring delicate items are handled appropriately.
- Time Management: Laundry attendants often work under tight deadlines, especially in a high-demand environment like a luxury hotel. Efficiently managing time to handle high volumes of laundry while maintaining quality standards is crucial.
- Knowledge of Laundry Equipment and Processes: Understanding how to operate various washing, drying, and pressing equipment correctly, and knowing the proper laundry techniques for different fabrics and materials, is essential to ensure that items are cleaned effectively without damage
- Organization Skills: Organizing laundry by type, color, and guest specifications to ensure efficient processing and quick retrieval. Keeping track of guest items and ensuring everything is returned to the correct room or guest is critical
- Reliability and Dependability: Laundry attendants need to be dependable, as their role directly impacts the guest experience. Being punctual and consistent in completing tasks helps ensure smooth operations, particularly in a high-end setting where service expectations are high
