Ironside Mechanical is looking for responsible, driven and well trained Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team in the Fort McMurray region. Technicians will be performing all job duties out of fully equipped service trucks in the field (shop based positions available). Applicable tech base rate of $58 /hr with the OT rate occurring after 8 hrs /day, 44 hrs /week (= avg $70.50 /hr blended base rate before additional compensation). Up to an additional $4/hr increase dependent upon the applicants level of heavy civil and/or surface mining equipment repair experience. Field and shop based positions.

Responsibilities;
- To efficiently troubleshoot and repair various makes/models of heavy equipment.
- Competent in completing preventative maintenance requirements.
- Verify equipment has been brought back to OEM specifications upon task completion.
- Advise clients of necessary repairs and methods for improvement.
- Report and document work that has been performed.
Qualifications;
- Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman certificate (off-road is mandatory) in Alberta and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate.
- Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman certificate (on-road is an asset) in Alberta and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate.
- Experience and knowledge in repairing a wide range of all types of heavy mobile equipment including construction, mining and truck/trailer combinations is an asset.
Successful technicians must;
- Have a willingness to work in the Ft McMurray region on a rotational schedule
- Be in good health and physical condition to perform duties
- Be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Be able to work independently and under minimal supervision
- Be able to maintain a safe and efficient work environment at all times
- Be able to routinely lift up to 50lbs
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
Further assets;
- Be proficient in OEM computer based diagnostics systems
- Certified in H2S alive and first-aid
- Be CSTS/OSSA or BSO or CSO Certified
- Valid air-brakes certificate (Q endorsement)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $150,000.00-$220,000.00 per year
