We are currently in search of a motivated and industrious Assistant Grower with the option for permanent placement and career advancement within the company.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about sustainability and urban farming
- Interest in horticulture/agriculture (preferred)
- Possess a valid G license
- Strong communication skills
- Capable of lifting 50lbs
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting performance goals
- Self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail
- Able to innovate, implement, and oversee new processes central to our sustainability goals
Job Description:
- Duration: 12 months
- Full-time commitment, 40 hours per week
- Hourly wage: $18
- Work schedule: Tuesday-Friday (3 day weekends)
Responsibilities:
- Participate in harvesting and packaging microgreens and edible flowers
- Assist in the sowing and cultivation of various microgreens
- Contribute to crop watering and maintenance
- Organic Integrated pest management
- Engage in composting initiatives aimed at achieving zero waste, sequestering carbon, and distributing the byproduct to local farmers/growers.
- Support the upkeep of closed-loop aquaponic systems
- Assist in the execution of farm expansion projects
