Job Summary
Our Winnipeg Branch is currently seeking a Journeyman Millwright to join our Service Team. We’re looking for knowledgeable, experienced, and highly motivated individuals who have great work ethic and enjoy working in a team-focused environment. This job has a high degree of out-of-town work with a fluid schedule.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of mechanical equipment issues both in-shop and at customer sites
- Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
- Comprehension of conveyor dynamics and material handling fundamentals
- Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery prior to installation
- Start-up and testing
- Understand and read Engineered Blueprints and drawings
- Shutdown operations
- Rigging and handling
- Bearing, seals and packing
- Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition
- Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner
- Responsible time management
- Accurate documentation of work and timelines
- Experience in bulk material handling is an asset
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- work in challenging environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces, hot and cold work areas).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior millwrights and apprentices.
Job Requirements:
- Red Seal Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright trade
- 5+ years of experience in the industry
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong rigging experience
- Must be able to work with minimal direction.
- Drug and alcohol testing Required.
- Clean drivers abstract, established insurance history in Canada – minimum 3 years no at-fault claims.
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and/or irregular hours.
- Willingness and ability to work in remote locations.
- Supervisory experience in a similar industry.
- Use of Microsoft Excel and word
- Experience in project planning and execution, including resource allocation and scheduling.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
