Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trailer Mechanic / Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a mechanical background and be proficient in maintaining and repairing various types of trailers. This role requires hands-on experience with heavy equipment, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Trailer Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment is safe and operational, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, including inspections, adjustments, and replacements of parts.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to assemble and disassemble trailer components.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while performing repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed on each trailer.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and staff to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in trailer repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Experience with heavy lifting and operating heavy machinery safely.
- Familiarity with farm machinery is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Previous experience working in a dealership or similar setting is advantageous.
