The pay range for the role is $52,300 to $87,100 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the quality management systems at the Bothwell Plant. This role ensures compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations by coordinating quality assurance activities, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Coordinator plays a key part in fostering a culture of quality and promoting best practices across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the laboratory team and oversee all testing activities, ensuring timely and accurate results and any out-of-specifications are addressed in a timely manner.
- Lead complaint investigations and coordinate with relevant departments to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Quality Supervisor and other relevant departments to investigate incident and out of specification reports, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage Hold and Release Program.
- Manage Good Manufacturing Practices Program.
- Manage Glass and Brittle plastic Program.
- Verify Certificate of Analysis (COA) of incoming materials and create COA for finished product.
- Coordinate Knife Exchange Program.
- Facilitate customer quality inspections.
- Complete inspections on customer returns and provide a risk-based product disposition.
- Manage Pest Control Program.
- Manage Quality System Records.
- Manage Quality laboratory inventory and budget history.
- Familiarize and assist with Quality Control Manuals.
- Conduct training including orientation, annual HACCP and GMP, Critical Control Points (CCP), Quality Control Points (QCP), any updates to Quality, Operational and other department procedures.
- Backup laboratory testing and reporting when required.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food industry
- Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or Food Science preferred
- Knowledge of microbiological procedures
- Knowledge of SQF, CFIA/SFCR, HACCP, GMPs.
- Excellent attention to details, interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer abilities using Word & Excel
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Flexible schedule
