Job Summary
Year Round Landscaping Inc. is seeking an experienced Class 1 Transport Truck Driver to support year-round landscape construction and heavy equipment hauling operations. The role involves specializing in construction and landscaping logistics. Candidate must have experience operating different types of trucks and trailers, heavy equipment ensuring safe and efficient transportation while maintaining excellent customer service standards. The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, various trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and all freight carriers.
- Operate Class 1 tractor-trailers, a variety of commercial trucks including tandem axle trucks, triaxle trailers, flatbed trailers, roll-off bin trucks, water trucks, sanding hopper units, and specialized construction vehicles, and all freight carriers.
- Safely Load and unload cargo using appropriate heavy equipment when necessary.
- Safely load, transport, and unload heavy excavation equipment, landscape construction materials, aggregates, sand, loam, asphalt- and concrete-related materials.
- Operate specialized equipment including slinger trucks, hydro-seeders, and picker deck trucks, water trucks, sanding hopper trucks and plows.
- Drive on designated routes within local and regional areas, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites and landscaping projects.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and maintain logbooks to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip.
- Follow route schedules efficiently while managing multiple deliveries throughout the day.
- Support yard management, equipment coordination, and dispatch activities.
- Communicate effectively with others and to dispatch regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit.
- Perform hoisting, rigging, and picker deck truck operations in accordance with your certifications and the safety regulations.
- Secure loads using approved load-securement methods and equipment in accordadance with the law and your safety certifications.
- Perform routine servicing, greasing, and minor maintenance of trucks and equipment.
- Follow all applicable occupational health and safety, City of Calgary, and general contractor safety requirements and pocess all safety documentation for the jobs required with your safety certifications.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (or equivalent) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving, freight delivery, or related roles
- Minimum 2 years of commercial class 1 truck driving experience.
- Experience operating tandem and triaxle trailers, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and roll-off bin trucks.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks.
- Knowledge of operating specialized and or heavy equipment such as loaders, picker truck, dump trucks with current safety certifications.
- Ability to operate various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, water tanker trucks, and roll-off bin trucks.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures for construction materials or landscaping supplies, transport of all various heavy equipment.
- Certified and trained in:: Load securement, Heavy equipment operation, Hoisting and Rigging (picker deck trucks).
- Construction safety training and courses applicable to all landscape construction.
- Ability to pass City of Calgary Construction Safety Orientation and General Contractor safety tests.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and safety compliance.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial vehicle operation.
- Ability to work independently on local or regional routes with minimal supervision.

Pay: From $32.00 per hour
