Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, restorations, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring sterilization standards are met
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools when applicable for orthodontic or restorative planning
- Manage patient records using Epic and Dentrix software systems for accurate documentation and scheduling
- Provide exceptional customer service as a dental receptionist, greeting patients and coordinating appointment flow
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions with clarity and compassion
- Support pediatrics by creating a friendly environment that eases anxiety and promotes positive experiences
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA II) credential required, with active licensure or registration as per state regulations
- Proven experience with dental assisting procedures, including radiography and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and terminology to assist in specialized treatments
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus, demonstrating patience and effective communication skills
- Ability to operate CAD tools for designing or planning orthodontic appliances or restorations is desirable
