About the role
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Junior Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the Company. The primary focus of the role is full-cycle Accounts Payable. Over time, and with appropriate training and support, the position will also provide exposure to Accounts Receivable billings and analysis, month-end activities, reporting, and other general accounting work.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
· Process invoices accurately and on time, including purchase-order matching and payment-run preparation.
· Assist with vendor setup, vendor account administration, and account reconciliations.
· Maintain organized and accurate payable records in accordance with Company procedures and deadlines.
· Help identify practical improvements to the Accounts Payable process.
Additional accounting support
· Assist with customer invoicing, cash application, collections, and other Accounts Receivable activities.
· Complete bank, credit-card, and employee-expense reconciliations.
· Assist with bookkeeping, general-ledger reconciliations, month-end journal entries, and account analysis.
· Support GST filings, other government remittances, audit requests, special projects, and other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills
· Some related Accounts Payable or general accounting experience, together with a basic understanding of accounting principles and accounting cycles.
· A diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time-management skills.
· The ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
· A dependable and cooperative approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
· Comfort with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar accounting system is an asset.
· Experience in the oil and gas service industry and familiarity with workplace AI tools are assets.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
