Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy. You will be responsible assist in the preparation, dispensing, and labeling of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and stock control, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining proper storage conditions for medications.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology and pharmacy regulations.
- Organize and maintain pharmacy records, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Help customers locate over-the-counter medications, health products, beauty items, and general merchandise.
- Greet customers, answer general inquiries, and efficiently process transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Receive shipments, stock shelves, rotate inventory and "face" products so the aisles look neat and organized.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Canadian Pharmacy Assistant is preferred.
- Completion of a Certified Pharmacy Assistant program is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy operations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
