Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate pharmacy operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical environment, providing essential support to ensure safe and efficient patient care. Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is highly valued, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy systems with attention to detail and accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support medication administration processes and ensure proper documentation
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient service and medication management
Skills
- Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy technician roles is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in prescriptions, inventory, and documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy
- Patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting diverse patient needs
Pay: $17.65-$23.00 per hour
