Job description
As we are constantly growing, we are seeking to hire a Damage Prevention Technicians. The ideal candidates must have experience locating private projects/properties, have dealt with different locating methods, and doesn’t mind long distance travelling.
Responsibilities
- Conduct utility locates as required.
- Conduct research or analyze data regarding excavation locations, construction prints and plans to determine actual lines of requested utilities.
- Operate various electronic devices including use of a receiver and transmitter designed to assist in the locating and verifying of underground utilities including gas, phone and fiber optic cables.
- Mark utility lines using spray paint or coloured flags.
- Prepares various reports and documentation verifying marked utilities using different software on a laptop.
- Complete locates that aligns with MS Locates standards and schedules as required.
Qualifications
- Valid G class driver’s license
- Access to private vehicle
- Ability to work outdoors
- Previous experience locating utilities
- Previous experience reading blueprints an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service skills
- Damage prevention technician certificate is an asset
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
