About the Position
As the Showroom Associate, you are the first point of contact for guests and a vital part of our team. This role supports a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring each customer feels at home from the moment they walk through the door or call in. Working closely with sales consultants and managers, you will help maintain smooth coordination throughout the day. Your attentiveness and ability to manage details will directly support a seamless customer experience.
This part-time seasonal position offers up to 20 hours per week from Friday – Sunday over summer 2026 and is dedicated to our new pop-up clearance showroom beside the main Smitty’s location at 170 Gateway Park Drive, Kitchener. This position is expected to be allocated hours until the closure of the clearance centre around mid August, 2026.
What will you be doing?
- Create a pleasant and professional selling atmosphere by greeting the customers courteously, efficiently and professionally
- Assisting customers with queries on product and completing sales order entry
- Coordinate with warehouse and shipping to assist with customer pick-ups and deliveries.
- Perform daily reconciliations of all credit card, debit and cash payments in our company's POS system
- Provide customers with updates on orders and process payments upon request
- Maintain the flow of in-store customer traffic by monitoring and notifying sales staff accordingly
- Manage incoming phone calls, email inquiries and live chat inquiries.
What is going to help you be successful?
- Completion of high-school and or college certificate or diploma
- 1+ years of experience in a customer service, sales or reception position
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
