Commercial Solutions and Operations Specialist
Ground Truth Ag is looking for a Commercial Solutions and Operations Specialist to support prospective and existing customers throughout the sales, implementation, and ongoing support lifecycle.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who is comfortable with technical products, understands customer workflows, and enjoys working across commercial, product, technical, support, and field operations.
You will conduct introductory calls and communications with potential customers, support product demonstrations and trade shows, help qualify opportunities, coordinate installations and onboarding, provide front-line customer support, and ensure customer needs and follow-up activities are organized and completed.
This is not a pure sales role and it is not an operations role. It is a practical commercial solutions and operations role that requires strong communication, organization, product understanding, technical confidence, and the ability to coordinate customer activities from initial inquiry through implementation and ongoing support.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in agriculture, grain, agtech, elevators, seed cleaning, food processing, commodity quality, or a related industry.
- Minimum 2 years experience in sales, customer success, technical sales, implementation, support, commercial operations, or a related customer-facing role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable initiating conversations and communicating with prospective customers by phone, email, video call, and in person.
- Comfortable explaining technical products and workflows to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Strong follow-up, organization, documentation, and CRM discipline.
- Ability to qualify opportunities and identify appropriate next steps.
- Comfortable leading introductory customer calls, product demonstrations, training sessions, and trade show conversations.
- Willingness and ability to travel for installations, field visits, trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across commercial, product, technical, engineering, support, and operations teams.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to follow customer issues through to resolution.
- Interest in using AI and automation tools to improve commercial and customer workflows.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple customer activities and priorities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where products, processes, and customer workflows may evolve.
Optional Valuable Skills
- Experience with hardware and software products or other technical field products.
- Experience with Intercom, Airtable, Jira, CRM platforms, ticketing systems, or similar tools.
- Experience creating onboarding materials, support documentation, troubleshooting guides, demo scripts, training resources, or customer playbooks.
- Experience supporting pilots, installations, field trials, product launches, or early commercial deployments.
- Experience attending trade shows, supporting booth activities, conducting product demonstrations, or managing post-event follow-up.
- Experience troubleshooting equipment, software, connectivity, or technical workflow issues.
- Familiarity with grain grading, commodity testing, quality assurance, grain handling, seed processing, or food-processing operations.
- Comfort working with early-stage products and evolving customer workflows.
What you’ll be working on
- Conduct introductory calls and communications with prospective customers and partners sharing Ground Truth Ag’s product value proposition and gaining an understanding of customer work flows.
- Qualify opportunities, and identify appropriate next steps such as demos, pilots, site visits, or sales meetings.
- Complete product demonstrations, customer presentations, proposals, pricing materials, pilots, and commercial follow-up.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including customer information, call notes, opportunity stages, commitments, and next steps.
- Coordinate customer meetings, demonstrations, installations, onboarding, training, and post-install follow-up.
- Complete or assist with on-site and remote installations, troubleshooting and support.
- Train customers on product use, workflows, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Provide front-line customer support, troubleshoot common issues, and coordinate escalation and resolution with product and technical teams.
- Coordinate pilots, customer timelines, deliverables, usage follow-up, renewals, expansions, and additional-site installations.
- Represent Ground Truth Ag at trade shows, conferences, field days, customer events, and other industry functions. Including preparation, set up, demonstrations, engaging with attendees and lead tracking and follow up.
- Gather customer feedback and share relevant insights with commercial, product, technical, engineering, support, and operations teams.
- Create and improve onboarding materials, support documentation, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, demo scripts, and customer playbooks.
