Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Skilled Laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction trades, including carpentry, masonry, electrical work, and the use of power tools. This role involves performing a wide range of hands-on tasks to support construction projects, restoration efforts, and installation jobs. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise and physical stamina.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently
- Assist with concrete forming, finishing, and laying; masonry work including brick and stone installation
- Install cabinetry, flooring (including tile laying), and perform construction painting and caulking
- Conduct plumbing and electrical tasks in accordance with safety standards and project specifications
- Support restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged structures or surfaces
- Assist with construction estimating and planning activities as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work site to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction-related roles with knowledge of carpentry, masonry, electrical systems, or plumbing preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and specific skills such as concrete forming or tile laying is highly desirable
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Valid certification or relevant licensing is preferred but not mandatory depending on project requirements
