Reporting to the Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting, the Financial Analyst will create and protect value by supporting internal reporting, planning and analysis. You will provide insight into financial modeling, data interpretation and performance drivers to support informed decisions. You will work closely with Decision Support, IT and Financial Reporting teams and contribute to monthly and quarterly board reporting, financial planning activities and special projects.
- Evaluating financial performance by assessing business results, applying insight into key performance drivers, analyzing risk and return, and supporting the development of budgets, forecasts and multi year plans.
- Investigating performance outcomes by probing business partners to identify root causes and recommending actions that improve financial results.
- Preparing and analyzing business cases using standard templates to support clear and informed decision making.
- Researching best practices and assessing competitive, economic and regulatory trends, partnering with internal teams to translate insights into practical business context.
- Delivering clear presentations that use appropriate tools and visuals to interpret high level information and articulate feasible alternatives and recommended actions.
- Participating in the development, documentation and improvement of departmental processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Post secondary education with a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- Additional post secondary studies in business or accounting that strengthen financial knowledge.
- Enrolment in or completion of a CA, CGA or CMA designation program.
- 2 to 3 years of financial analysis experience with the ability to perform detail oriented analytical work.

Expected salary/hourly range $60,574- $100,956
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
