Front Office / Reservations Manager
Arowhon Pines, Algonquin Park
( May 15 to October 15 2024 contract)

$ 20 - $ 23 per hour, 40 to 50 hours per week- Wage negotiable based on experience.
You must be able to relocate to Algonquin Park, and live on the grounds.
$ 80/week Room and Board - your only expense - private room with a private bathroom, all meals, use of all the facilities - canoes, kayaks, hiking trails (see wildlife!), swim in the lake, tennis, fishing, etc. There is a staff dock, quiet bonfires at night and basic rural internet. Meet new friends from around the world.

Arowhon Pines is an all-inclusive resort open spring, summer, and fall, located in the middle of Algonquin Park, in the province of Ontario. We are located 3 hours from Toronto or Ottawa and one hour from Huntsville. Responsibilities:
- manage a busy office with online reservations system
- presents a hospitable and friendly front office to guests
- in charge of warmly welcoming guests at the front office, answering questions, offering assistance to guests
- direct supervision of a staff of 2-3 agents
- supervise the answering of telephone and internet inquiries
- review reservations, assign guest accommodation with attention to detail
- provide timely, accurate information to all departments – housekeeping, outside, dining room and kitchen
- post guest charges, receive payment, bank deposits and transfers
- handle travel agent bookings (Jonview, booking.com), ensure invoices sent promptly and payment received, approve commissions
- provide administrative support to all departments
- schedule office shifts depending on occupancy
- coordinates, assigns then checks all work
- teaches office staff with regards to job duties, safety and company policies.
- in charge of wedding and group reservations, rooming list, and billing as well as present during the event
- integral part of management staff, follows all company policies on and off work, may have duty management shift
Qualifications:
- front line personality – warm, welcoming, responsible and organized!
- learns quickly, able to teach 2 -3 agents quickly and efficiently, handle multiple tasks and priorities
- experience with computerized reservation system
- practical and technical office administration background - computers (set up and take down, Microsoft Office Word and Excel, web and email, installing program updates, computer backups, etc) and equipment (printers/credit card machines, etc.)
- at least 3 years of experience in a hotel with supervisory experience
- must have legal permission to work in Canada
- superior English written and oral skills along with either French or German
- love of the outdoors is essential.
- completion of college courses related to hospitality an asset

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
