As our company and team continue to grow, we are looking for a practical, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Generalist to support our employees and help build effective, professional, and people-centered HR practices.
Role Overview
The HR Generalist will support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR policies, record management, and compliance.
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing day-to-day HR operations while also identifying opportunities to improve processes. You will work closely with employees and management in a fast-paced, growing company where priorities can evolve quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage or support the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and hiring follow-up.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, transfers, and offboarding, ensuring that documentation and internal communication are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain employee records and HR systems while protecting confidential information.
- Administer employee medical insurance and other company benefit programs, and respond to employee questions.
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance to employees and managers and assist with employee relations and workplace matters.
- Help develop, update, and implement HR policies, the employee handbook, and standard operating procedures.
- Support attendance, leave, payroll coordination, and performance management in collaboration with Finance and company leadership.
- Monitor applicable employment standards and workplace requirements and help maintain HR compliance.
- Support employee engagement, company culture initiatives, and internal communications.
- Participate in other HR projects and process improvements as the company grows.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or in a similar HR role.
- Practical knowledge of recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership in a growing company.
- Proficiency with common office software and HR systems.
- Strong English communication skills; the ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset.
- Knowledge of British Columbia employment standards and workplace requirements is an asset.
- A CPHR designation, or progress toward one, is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected annual total compensation for this position is CAD $80,000–100,000. The final package will be based on the candidate’s experience, capabilities, and fit for the role.
The compensation package includes:
- Base salary: CAD $80,000–100,000
- Company equity that vests annually, subject to the applicable equity plan, grant terms, and vesting schedule
