The Role: Park Custodian/ Grounds Keeper
As a Park Custodian, you are a guardian of the forest — caring for over 30 acres of enchanted woodland, trails, attractions, and facilities. This is a physically active, hands-on role that requires pride in your work, attention to detail, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
It is hard work, keeping washrooms sparkling clean, working outdoors and sometimes behind the scenes — but it is also deeply rewarding, knowing your efforts help create unforgettable memories for thousands of families each season.
You will work closely with the Park Maintenance Manager, assisting with daily upkeep, special projects, and repairs, while also being a friendly, professional presence for guests exploring the park.
Job Description and Duties
- Ensure washrooms throughout the park are exceptionally clean and well stocked throughout the day
- Maintain the Main Trail to ensure it is clean, safe, and free of debris for guests
- Conduct daily rounds of the park to ensure cleanliness of settings, safety, and overall presentation
- Assist the Park Maintenance Manager with daily tasks and ongoing projects, prioritizing work based on importance
- Report and assist with repairs including painting, surface patching, concrete repair, and figurine maintenance
- Identify, report, and address damage or vandalism to park features
- Empty garbage bins, clean the parking lot, and assist with parking during peak times as required
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and handling materials safely
- Meet daily with the Park Maintenance Supervisor to communicate issues, observations, and completed tasks
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform a wide variety of operational tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Friendly and professional, with the ability to interact positively with the public
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
