We are seeking an experienced Hardscape Foreman to oversee underground utility and civil construction projects. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Hydro, Telus, Shaw, storm, sanitary, and site servicing installations, along with the ability to lead crews, read drawings, and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Wage
$32–$40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate civil construction crews on-site.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and grades.
- Oversee installation of:
- Hydro
- Telus and Shaw conduit systems
- Storm drainage systems
- Sanitary sewer systems
- Underground utility infrastructure
- Ensure work is completed according to specifications and schedules.
- Operate excavators and other civil construction equipment as required.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and manpower on projects.
- Maintain safe work practices and enforce site safety procedures.
- Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Troubleshoot site issues and provide direction to crews.
- Perform layout and verify elevations and grades.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of civil foreman or lead hand experience.
- Strong underground utility installation knowledge.
- Experience with Hydro, Telus, Shaw, storm, and sanitary systems.
- Ability to read civil drawings and site plans.
- Equipment operating experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Safety certifications considered an asset: First Aid.
Work Environment
- Outdoor construction and civil infrastructure sites.
- Full-time position with overtime as required.
- Physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
