Duties:
The Koiter Lab at Brandon University is hiring a research assistant to support a carbon inventory project focused on agricultural landscapes. Duties include:
- Assist with field collection of soil, sediment, vegetation, and water samples
- Prepare materials (soil and vegetation samples) for research
- Assist with standard laboratory analysis (e.g., texture, bulk density)
- Assist with data entry, summarizing, and reporting
- Assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations
and other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Laboratory preparation and analysis of soil and vegetation samples
- Field collection of soil and vegetation samples
- Traveling and working in rural areas
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in geography, environmental science, biology, or other Earth science disciplines
- Canadian Class 5 drivers license
